Statement from Tom A. Bernstein, co-founder and chairman, and Paula Grant Berry, vice-chair

"We honor this weekend, as we do every day in our work, all of those lost on September 11, 2001. We respect those family members who believe that the World Trade Center site should be limited to the Memorial and Memorial Center museum, even as we and other family members believe that a living memorial, reflecting our common resolve to preserve freedom, should also have a place on this sacred ground. We want to assure everyone that all of our activities at the International Freedom Center are and will always be respectful and appropriate to the solemnity of this hallowed site."
